Events Manager — Book-ish (Crickhowell & Abergavenny)

Role Overview
Book-ish is looking for a creative, organised and book-loving Events Manager to help shape, promote and deliver a lively programme of literary and community events. This role works closely with authors, publishers, schools, and our passionate bookselling team to create unforgettable experiences that bring readers together.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and manage in-store and off-site events — from author evenings and book launches to festivals and school visits.
• Liaise with publishers, publicists, authors, local schools and community partners to confirm schedules, logistics and event details.
• Coordinate marketing and ticket sales across our website, newsletters and social media.
• Oversee event setup, customer experience and post-event follow-up.
• Support community outreach and partnerships to grow Book-ish’s audience.
• Manage event budgets and produce relevant reports.
What We’re Looking For
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A passion for books, people, and creating meaningful cultural experiences.
• Confidence working with authors, customers and suppliers.
• Strong social media and marketing awareness.
• Flexible availability for evening/weekend events.
• Previous experience in events, retail or knowledge of the book trade a plus.
