We are delighted to invite you to a very special festive celebration of the natural year with the person who knows it best – Lia Leendertz. We’ll be honouring the 2026 edition of Lia’s perennially popular and bestselling Almanac with a night of conversation with Book-ish friend Kate Humble.

Lia Leendertz is an award-winning garden and food writer based in Bristol. She writes regularly for the Daily Telegraph, The Garden, Simple Things, the Guardian and Gardens Illustrated. Her reinvention of the traditional rural almanac has become an annual must-have for readers eager to connect with the seasons, appreciate the outdoors and discover ways to mark and celebrate each month.

About The Almanac

The Almanac: A Seasonal Guide to 2026 gives you the tools and inspiration you need to celebrate, mark and appreciate each month of the year in your own particular way.

About Kate Humble

Kate Humble is a broadcaster and author of five books, including Thinking On My Feet, A Year of Living Simply Home Cooked and Home Made. A champion of the environment, nature conservation and rural affairs, she is president of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and founded Humble by Nature, a rural skills centre on her farm in Wales.

Venue:

The Angel Hotel is located in the centre of Abergavenny. Situated between 7 hills on the Welsh/English border, Abergavenny is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Wales’. The Angel is only a 2 minute walk from Abergavenny Castle or 5 minute walk from Linda Vista Gardens. Providing a warm, friendly environment in a truly residential setting. The Angel Hotel is within easy access to Abergavenny Train Station.

Refunds:

It is our general policy not to refund event tickets unless an event has sold out. In the case of sold out events where we have a waiting list for tickets, we will attempt to sell on your tickets at face value, if notified 7 days prior to the event. If sold, you will receive a refund for the ticket value. Alternatively, you can request to transfer your tickets to another event, making up any difference in ticket price.
