Exploring Blaenavon Industrial Landscape

£9.99

The area around Blaenavon is one of the finest examples in the world of a landscape created by ironmaking and coalmining in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Together with the town of Blaenavon, which is one of the best examples in Wales of a valley head industrial community, this area of 32.9 square kilometres has been accorded World Heritage status. A large portion of the site is within the Brecon Beacons National Park, providing a dramatic contrast between a preserved industrial landscape and hillsides of high scenic quality where walkers may enjoy spectacular views.
